Our Community
Alma’s scholars and families come from across the city of New Bedford and therefore, our community is truly representative of the geographic, cultural, and socioeconomic diversity of our city.
Our families own local businesses (RAFFA chimi’s and the Carranza's embroidery services), offer incredible opportunities for New Bedford youth to play basketball (Bay State Elite Basketball ) and save lives with the New Bedford Fire Department. For more than a decade, Alma has been a school in, and of, New Bedford.
We are proud of the many ways Alma families are a part of the local community, and strive to give back and support them as well.
