Ms. Russell was born and raised in New Bedford, the daughter of Portuguese immigrants. She graduated from New Bedford High School, received her associate’s degree from Johnson & Wales University and then went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in biology from Franklin Pierce University (then called Franklin Pierce College). Ms. Russell is also a proud Founding Alma parent who began volunteering at Alma on Day 1. In her free time, Ms. Russell enjoys reading, writing and drawing.
