Ms. Tavares was born in New Bedford and raised in Puerto Rico from age 3. She graduated from Ramon Power y Giralt Highschool in Las Piedras. Shortly after, she returned to her birth town of New Bedford were she’s resided ever since. She is the proud mother of two amazing Alma del Mar scholars who inspire her daily. For many years she supported and advocated for families in various community agencies of New Bedford. She enjoys nature walks and family outings and believes there is immense beauty in our own backyard. She is happy to join Alma as an employee and hopes to connect with parents and help scholars succeed.
