Dear Alma Families,
We have been made aware of a nationwide, non-credible threat that is spreading on social media for potential school violence to take place on Friday, December 17. This threat does not name a specific school, and is not specific to New Bedford or Alma, but continues to spread on social media and by word of mouth.
As a precaution, we are in contact with the New Bedford Police Department. We have asked for a police presence at all of Alma del Mar’s campuses on Friday as a precaution. We do not want to raise unnecessary concern with our families, but also want you to know that we are aware of this threat and the safety and well-being of our scholars and staff remains our highest priority.
