Kelsey O'Connor

Kelsey O’Connor is a Middle School Associate Teacher at Alma’s Frederick Douglass Campus.

What made you decide to join the Crew at Alma?
The mission statement of the school – it was truly inspiring and made me so invested.

What do you hope to contribute to Alma?
Providing consistency and support for our students through strong relationships to create a great school environment.

What teacher made a difference in your life, and how?
Mrs. Carlson made a difference by modifying and altering curriculum so that I felt invested and was able to learn effectively.

Why did you become involved in education?
That moment when you see a kid understand something new you have taught them – the lightbulb moment!

Where did you go to college or post-secondary school?
Green Mountain College

What did you like about your college?
The majors offered and the inquiry based learning.

What is your favorite food?
Buffalo cauliflower

What is your favorite book?
Deep Survival by Laurence Gonzales
