What made you decide to join the Crew at Alma?
Everyone who I talked to about Alma has explained how it has such a family feel. I believe it is so important to have a supportive and positive staff for your school to work. I love collaborating with other teachers and being able to support one another on how to make our years better for our students and ourselves.
What do you hope to contribute to Alma?
I hope to bring my creativity and positivity into Alma. I love finding new ways for my students to understand curriculum and lessons outside of just a worksheet. I want to be able to support teachers and share my ideas with those who like having the same approach.
What teacher made a difference in your life, and how?
My 8th grade math teacher made such a difference in my life. My whole life I had struggled with math and trying to understand a problem and solving it. He was not only approachable but took the time to understand what he was teaching before moving onto something else. He took account that every student was different and learned differently. As an educator that’s what I admire most about him.
Where did you go to college? What did you like about your college?
Bridgewater State University. I liked that my program was so well known and almost over prepared me for teaching. It had programs I joined that helped me become more familiar with a classroom setting and also pushed me to understanding what made a good teacher a great teacher.
