What made you decide to join the Crew at Alma?
I have heard wonderful things about Alma and wanted to be apart of its community.
What do you hope to contribute to Alma?
I hope to support my students achieve their goals and dreams.
What teacher made a difference in your life, and how?
Mrs. Tavares, my high school field hockey coach as well as my U.S. History, Economics and Political Science teacher, definitely inspired and always encouraged me to pursue a career as a teacher. While she was smart and witty, she effortlessly created a welcoming, un-biased, and open minded safe space for us to express our authentic selves in.
Why did you become involved in education?
I have always hoped to be the same inspiration and support system for my students as my teachers were for me.
Where did you go to college or post-secondary school?
I graduated in 2015 with a Bachelors in Science from Salem State University where I majored in Recreation Management and minored in Health and Family Consumer Science.
In December 2021 I received my Masters in Education with a focus on Curriculum Development and Teaching Strategies from Fitchburg State University.
What did you like about your college?
I enjoyed celebrating my favorite holiday, Halloween, in such a spooky place.
What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is pizza.
What is your favorite book?
I have always really enjoyed the Harry Potter series
