Meet Mr. Perry

August 4, 2022, by Becca Kurie

Jeffrey Perry is the Alumni Coordinator for Alma del Mar Charter Schools.

What made you decide to join the Crew at Alma?
I loved the innovative learning that was going on at Alma, and the values and culture that are exhibited by staff, students, and families.

What do you hope to contribute to Alma?
With over 20 years in the local school systems, I hope to bring a mixture of past experiences and new ideas to Alma to contribute to the success of its scholars.

What teacher made a difference in your life, and how?
Mr. Michael Correia at New Bedford High School. He became like a dad/uncle/mentor to me while at school and after school for athletics. Someone that you always wanted to impress and do the right thing for. This holds true to today, as we still remain in contact.

Why did you become involved in education?
I became involved in education in 1999. I graduated college in 1998 and in 1999 I got a job at Greater New Bedford Voc-Tech as the Inside Suspension Coordinator.

Where did you go to college or post-secondary school?
Bridgewater State College

What did you like about your college?
I liked the different opportunities it offered to its students and the staff I encountered was very knowledgeable and supportive.

What is your favorite food?
Pizza

What is your favorite book?
Fall River Dreams by Bill Reynolds
