What made you decide to join the Crew at Alma?
There were a number of contributing factors that lead me to join the Crew at Alma. Something that drew me to Alma was the opportunity for growth and success. Becoming an associate teacher will allow me to learn all the necessary skills for becoming an amazing teacher. I absolutely loved learning more about Alma throughout my interviews and I’m very eager and excited to start this coming fall.
What do you hope to contribute to Alma?
I hope to contribute my guidance, dedication, and encouragement to Alma. Im eager to leave a positive impact on students’ lives while also becoming the best teacher I can be.
What teacher made a difference in your life, and how?
One specific teacher that made a difference on my life was my sixth grade teacher. Something that has always stuck with me and has pushed me to become the best teacher I can be is how strong of a relationship we formed and how I could genuinely tell she really cared for her students and their success. By creating a strong relationship with her students, including myself, it truly did affect every aspect of my life. This one specific teacher made me realize how strong of an impact a teacher can have on his/her students.
Why did you become involved in education?
I decided to become involved in education because I have always had a passion to work with children. Working in education allows me to impart life lessons that students will never forget. Im excited to be in a position where I will be able to influence decisions, behaviors, strengths, weaknesses, and imagination. Becoming involved in education lets me take part in shaping the next generation as well.
Where did you go to college or post-secondary school?
Stonehill College
What did you like about your college?
There weren’t too many things I didn’t like about college, especially Stonehill. What drew me to Stonehill was the beautiful campus and the tight knit community. I loved the structure and schedule that came with being a student athlete. College taught me a number of life lessons that I will always cherish; balance, organization, structure, how to prioritize, communication/listening skills, and learning from mistakes.
