Abby Rego is a Fourth Grade Associate Teacher at Alma’s Frederick Douglass Campus.
What made you decide to join the Crew at Alma?
I had heard so many great things about the school, and I knew it was the perfect place for me!
What do you hope to contribute to Alma?
I plan to assist all scholars in all subjects and provide extra help to scholars that need it.
What teacher made a difference in your life, and how?
My 7th grade teacher Mr. Leconte was incredibly understanding and supportive when it came to my struggle with anxiety. His kindness is something that made me want to teach.
Why did you become involved in education?
I have always loved working with children, and after working at a daycare for years, I decided to continue onto elementary school,
Where did you go to college or post-secondary school?
I graduated from UMass Dartmouth with a degree in English.
What did you like about your college?
I loved the English courses. I learned so much, and was able to grow as a writer.
What is your favorite food?
Pizza
What is your favorite book?
Any of the Harry Potter books!
