What made you decide to join the Crew at Alma?
After teaching in other towns, I felt this was a great opportunity to work in my own community.
What do you hope to contribute to Alma?
I hope to perpetuate Alma's values and contribute to student success both academically and socially. I look forward to contributing to Alma in multiple ways, but I am most excited to help scholars foster an artistic mindset! An artistic mindset is not just about being creative, it is about trial and error, and looking for unique solutions to problems. I am also looking forward to introducing scholars and their families to many ways of creating art, as well as showcasing scholar creativity (there hopefully may be a middle school art show in the future!)
What teacher made a difference in your life, and how?
Mr. Angelo, High School History. He was firm, expected his students to succeed, but didn't take himself too seriously.
Why did you become involved in education?
It wasn't necessarily part of the plan, but here I am! It must be a familial thing, my sister and 3 cousins are all in education.
Where did you go to college or post-secondary school?
UMass Dartmouth
What did you like about your college?
I had a couple really solid professors there.
What is your favorite food?
I can't decide.
What is your favorite book?
Any biography of a political or revolutionary figure.
