Alma's SEPAC/ELPAC meeting set for Dec. 19th!

In an effort to better engage with the parents of our scholars, we have organized advisory council meetings for both Special Education and English Learning parents. These meetings will provide you with the opportunity to learn more about the programs, understand how to better prepare your child for their transition to high school, and meet other families who are going through similar experiences.

The meetings will be held at the Alma Family Center at Fisher College, located at 777 Church St.

Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC)

First on the agenda is the Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC). This meeting is scheduled for Dec. 19 from 5:30-6pm. We will discuss how to prepare your scholar for their transition to high school and provide you with more information about Alma's Special Education Program. These meetings will not only provide you with valuable information but also give you an opportunity to meet other parents in similar situations, share experiences and learn from each other.

English Learner Parent Advisory Council (ELPAC)

Following the SEPAC meeting, we will have the English Learner Parent Advisory Council (ELPAC) from 6:15-6:45pm also on Dec. 19. During this session, you can learn more about ACCESS testing for all multilingual scholars and meet other multilingual families. This will be a platform to share experiences and advice with families who understand your challenges, and can provide support. It will also help you understand the testing that your child will undergo, easing any worries you may have.

Future Meeting Dates

After these initial meetings, we have set up several future meeting dates to ensure continuity and progress. These will be on Jan. 31, March 13, April 24, and June 5. We encourage you to attend as many meetings as possible to stay informed and actively involved in your scholar's education.
