At Alma, we believe that strong parent involvement is essential in our quest to provide our students with the best learning experience. In line with this belief, we are thrilled to invite you to our Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) and English Learner Parent Advisory Council (ELPAC) meetings. These meetings are designed to provide parents with a platform to learn more about our programs, connect with other families, and prepare for teacher conferences.
Our SEPAC and ELPAC meetings will be held on Nov. 8 at our Family Center located at Fisher College, 777 Church St. Do not miss out on this fantastic opportunity to become more involved in your child's education. Here's what you can expect from these meetings:
Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC)
Our SEPAC meeting will take place from 5:30-6pm. This is an excellent opportunity for you to learn how to navigate progress reports and gain a deeper understanding of our Special Education program. We also aim to provide support to parents in preparation for teacher conferences. Your participation in this meeting will help us create a more effective and responsive special education program for our students.
English Learner Parent Advisory Council (ELPAC)
Following the SEPAC meeting, we will have the ELPAC meeting from 6:15-6:45pm. This meeting is targeted at parents of English learners and multilingual families at Alma. We will discuss our MLL program and policies, and we are keen to hear your thoughts and experiences. Like the SEPAC meeting, we will also provide support in preparing for teacher conferences. Your insights will be invaluable in helping us shape our policies and strategies for our English Learner program.
Both meetings will be accompanied by pizza, snacks, and drinks. So, come join us in an environment that is not only informative but also fun and engaging. We strongly encourage all parents to come and participate in these meetings. It is a great way to stay connected with the Alma community and play an active role in your child's education.
If you are unable to attend the meetings on Nov. 8, do not worry. We have scheduled future meetings on the following dates: Dec. 19, Jan. 31, March 13, April 24, and June 5. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming meetings.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our community. Together, we can create an enriching and supportive learning environment for our students. We look forward to seeing you at the meetings!
