Meet Ms. Nims!

What made you decide to join the Crew at Alma?
I was excited by the chance to help build and introduce the dance curriculum!

What do you hope to contribute to Alma?
My goal at Alma is to create safe and inclusive classroom environments that promote self expression, build confidence and that nurtures inquisitive minds. I also look forward to creating meaningful relationships with students and their families.

What teacher made a difference in your life, and how?
I’ve been fortunate to have many but Professor Cathy Nicole is my teacher, inspiration, and lifelong mentor. She challenged me over and over again, while also going out of her way to check on me and support me. She always told me I would end up in education, and I always told her she was wrong!

Why did you become involved in education?
Teaching dance within the education system allows me to teach dance as an interdisciplinary art form that can help them make sense of the world around them. I became involved in education because I was always interested in more than just molding dancers. I’ve always wanted to inspire artists, activists, and change makers.
