Video Announcement from Mr. Gardner:
Note from Board Chair Jan Baptist:
Dear Alma Families,
Over the past two months, the Alma community has been engaged in a comprehensive internal search process to find its next Executive Director. The process included both in-person and remote focus group meetings for families, staff, and community partners, as well as a broad reaching anonymous survey, all focused on collecting feedback on the characteristics and skill sets that are essential for Alma’s next leader to succeed.
From across cafeteria tables and through computer screens, we heard reflections that emphasized values such as expertise in instruction and commitment to rigorous academic support. There were many that recognize the challenges facing a post COVID Alma and the need to have a leader with strong communication skills and the passion to navigate into the future. Ultimately, we heard the overwhelming desire to have leadership that will continue to build on the legacy of Alma del Mar, and continue to fulfill our mission to develop service-minded, socially adept, and well-educated scholars.
It is with all this in mind that I am overjoyed to announce that the Alma Board of Trustees has found a leader with these qualities and more. Earlier today, Ms. Taylor DeLoach, was selected to serve as the next Alma del Mar Executive Director, effective July 1st. The Alma Board believes that Taylor is the right leader to help us write the next chapter of Alma history, and will be an incredible visionary for the continued growth and development of our schools and scholars. Below is more information about Ms. DeLoach.
On behalf of the Search Committee, as well as our Board of Trustees, I want to thank you for your time, your insight, and your passion for Alma’s mission. We appreciate the presence of every voice, every perspective, and every idea that we encountered during this search process, and we are beyond excited to move forward.
Sincerely,
Jan Baptist
Meet the New Executive Director
