Dear Alma families,
In May, Alma scholars in 3rd through 8th grade will take the state administered Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) exams in Literacy, Math, and Science. Only 5th and 8th grade scholars will take the Science exams. At this time, we have confirmed the MCAS schedule for in-person scholars only. We are awaiting additional guidance from DESE regarding MCAS testing for scholars learning remotely.
MCAS exam schedule:
Ottiwell Campus:
- Tuesday May 18th: ELA 3rd – 5th
- Wednesday May 19th: Math 3rd – 5th
- Science 5th grade ONLY
- Thursday, May 20th: ELA 6th – 8th
- Friday, May 21st: Math 6th – 8th
- Science 8th grade ONLY
Douglass Campus:
- Tuesday, May 18th: ELA MCAS 3rd-6th
- Wednesday, May 19th: Math MCAS 3rd-6th
- Thursday, May 20th: ELA MCAS 7th
- Friday, May 21st Math MCAS 7th
We ask our families to . . .
1. Make sure your child is on time and in attendance everyday – missed exams must be made up.
2. Make sure your child is well rested each day getting 8-10 hours of sleep the night before.
3. Wish your child well and encourage them to do their best!
