Copia en español de la carta a la familia de la escuela secundaria Alma con respecto a la vacuna

October 4, 2021

Dear Families of Alma Middle School Scholars:

We hope this letter finds you and your families well as we enter our second month of the new school year. We wanted to reach out to you as your children are likely eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.

Following guidance from the CDC and DESE, Alma strongly recommends that anyone who is currently eligible get vaccinated for COVID-19 to help keep our community safe.

If your scholar has received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine already, please provide proof of their vaccination status as soon as possible. Taking a photo of the scholar’s vaccination card on your phone and sending it as a text to the appropriate phone number below is appreciated!

We want to do as much as possible to prevent transmission within our community, particularly those who are not yet eligible for the vaccine. That is why it’s critical that anyone who is currently eligible, get vaccinated. Ensuring a high vaccination rate is by far the most effective way to keep our community safe from COVID-19.

We urge all of our families to have all eligible family members vaccinated, including your eligible scholars. Vaccinations are now widely and readily available for everyone aged 12 and over, as the City of New Bedford recently announced clinics happening every weekday from 2-5 pm at various school and city sites across New Bedford. Check the NBPS Vaccination Clinic Schedule for details.

Thank you for partnering with us in this work.

In Service,

Will Gardner

Executive Director
