Alma del Mar continues to stand with Black lives in New Bedford. Ms. Frazer Rego, one of Alma’s visual art teachers, has secured a section of an upcoming community art project for scholars, families and staff to contribute to this important statement of solidarity in our community!

We invite all Alma scholars (current and alum) and family members to get involved. All submissions will be taken and combined to create one letter for the mural – an Alma community effort to support all Black lives in New Bedford!

Here’s how to participate:

  1. Either print out the worksheet (available here) or pick up a copy at Alma’s Ottiwell Campus (515 Belleville Ave.) between 10 am-2 pm on Friday, July 24.
  2. Create! Color, draw, paint, etc. You are encouraged to be inspired by what Black Lives Matter means to you.
  3. Submit your completed design. These may be sent as a PDF to katefrazerrego@almadelmar.org by Monday, August 10.
