Download Aviso de la familia Alma del 18 de mayo sobre el mandato de la máscara
May 18, 2021
Alma Families,
I hope you and your family have been able to enjoy the beautiful spring weather recently, and that everyone is remaining healthy. The state has issued updated guidance for health and safety protocols in schools. Here are the key updates you should be aware of:
- Beginning today, scholars no longer have to wear masks when outdoors, even if distance cannot be maintained. This means that in addition to outdoor mask breaks, scholars will also be able to remove their face coverings for recess and any other time they may be outdoors during school hours.
- Alma staff will continue to wear masks outdoors if distancing cannot be maintained. At this time, adults and students must continue to wear masks inside schools.
- Scholars may now share classroom materials.
- In alignment with state guidance, the gathering limits for school events with outside participants will be lifted starting May 29, 2021.
The new guidance was released as the Baker-Polito Administration announced that many of the Commonwealth’s COVID-19-related restrictions would end on Saturday, May 29, and that Governor Baker will end Massachusetts’ State of Emergency on Tuesday, June 15.
We greatly appreciate all of your support, patience and flexibility over the past year. Today marks the first day of state MCAS testing for Alma scholars in grades 3-8. We know that it is with your partnership in your scholar’s education that all scholars feel prepared and energized to show off all that they have learned during this challenging year.
In Service,
Will Gardner
