Dear 7th & 8th Grade Families,
We are looking forward to seeing your scholars in just two weeks, on August 26, for the first day of school! As we make final preparations for the new school year, we wanted to reach out to you as your children are likely eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.
Following guidance from the CDC and DESE, Alma strongly recommends that anyone who is currently eligible get vaccinated for COVID-19 to help keep our community safe.
We want to do as much as possible to prevent transmission within our community, particularly those who are not yet eligible for the vaccine. That is why it’s critical that anyone who is currently eligible, get vaccinated. Ensuring a high vaccination rate is by far the most effective way to keep our community safe from COVID-19.
We urge all of our families to have all eligible family members vaccinated, including your eligible scholars. Vaccinations are now widely and readily available for everyone aged 12 and over in New Bedford through SouthCoast Health, CVS and Rite Aid. Use the state’s Vaccination Finder tool located at https://vaxfinder.mass.gov/ or call the state’s Vaccination Hotline at 2-1-1.
Thank you for partnering with us in this work.
In service,
Will Gardner, Executive Director
