Commitment to Equity

Alma del Mar strives to be an anti-racist institution. We seek to dismantle racist and white supremacist structures in pursuit of justice and racial equity. We will fight against racism when we encounter it both within and outside of our school community. We will actively work to ensure that all of our community members, including scholars, families, and staff, feel included, celebrated and empowered. By resisting racism and white supremacy, we will lay the foundation to challenge all forms of oppression.

Election Day: No School on Nov. 5 plus a note from our Director

This year, Alma del Mar will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 5, the day of the Presidential Election. We made this decision because election officials anticipate increased activity near and around polling places on Election Day, and Alma’s Ottiwell Campus serves as a polling place for wards 2B and 2C. This is a one-time decision, and we anticipate that we will return to keeping our schools open on future days of primary and general elections.
