Why did you choose to join the Alma team?
I choose to join the Alma team because of the philosophy of “holistic Care” that is clearly present here. By holistic care, I mean Alma’s desire to care for not only the educational needs of its scholars, but the physical, mental, emotional and health needs of each individual student as well.
What do you hope to contribute to Alma?
I hope to contribute a sense of stability and familiarity to the nurse’s office. When children are familiar with their caregivers, they become more comfortable and more likely to share important details which are critical to providing grade-A health care!
What is your top goal during your first year with Alma?
My top goal during my first year with Alma is to establish a health education curriculum. I want Alma’s scholars to be knowledgeable about physical, mental and emotional health and apply such knowledge to the way they live their lives!
What teacher made a difference in your life — how?
A professor in college, she was a Doctor. I was slacking off one semester when she reminded me that my future patients’ lives were in my hands! I immediately realized the seriousness of my profession and refocused!
Why did you become involved in education?
I became involved in education because I find a great sense of pride in passing on knowledge to others. When I see a student or peer practicing a health promotion technique, which I had taught them, I can’t help but think, “Wow! That’s great I taught them that!”
Where did you go to college?
I went to Seton Hall University located in South, Orange NJ, home of the Seton Hall Pirates, Big East Basketball Team.

The dog! Particularly my Labradoodle named Annie. She’s the best dog ever!
